Intralytix has a Research Scientist position available in our laboratories in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The successful candidate will participate in various research projects focused on the development of bacteriophage-based products for food safety and / or human health applications. The successful candidate will be expected to exhibit individual initiative, work independently, be technically proficient and accurate, and effectively communicate in both laboratory notebooks and written reports. Strong, bench-level microbiology skills, and scrupulous data recording habits are essential for the position. Experience with isolating and characterizing bacteriophages, first-hand knowledge of common DNA and protein isolation and characterization techniques, and the ability to analyze and summarize data are strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in microbiology or a related field, and a minimum of two years of related experience - or a M.S. degree in microbiology or a related field, and a minimum of one year of related experience - are required for the position. Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment, and strong interpersonal communication and writing skills are strongly preferred.
